A few tweaks for those interested in gameplay over graphics as well as some tips:
*ALL TESTED ON NVIDIA CARD AND WINDOWS 7
1:User.cfg
Open a text editor and add the following lines:
PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1
RenderDevice.RenderAheadLimit 0
RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.VsyncEnable 0
PostProcess.DynamicAOEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurEnable 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurForceOn 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurFixedShutterTime 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMax 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurQuality 0
WorldRender.MotionBlurMaxSampleCount 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapEnable 0
WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256
WorldRender.TransparencyShadowmapsEnable 0
WorldRender.LightTileCsPathEnable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Enable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1Enable 0
RenderDevice.Dx11Dot1RuntimeEnable 0
GameTime.MaxVariableFPS 60
Save it as all types in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4
Call it "user.cfg", bf4 will always read from this on launch.
This will disable directx 11 (you wont notice believe me), display FPS onscreen, disable pre loading frames (better FPS) and most importantly lock FPS to 60 (this will help you overall).
Locking FPS to 60 (or really anything) will help smoothen your expirience (ie: no jumps from 200 to 60 FPS which cause ingame problems, locking FPS to something stable is always good).
This will also disable motion blur and Vsync.
This will set your system to high performance (not a biggie) but will most importantly keep windows services at bay when playing. This might help with crashing and such and will save RAM.
3:Ingame video settings:
Everything to low and MESH on ultra for clearest picture (and best performance ofc).
AA post, AA deferred, Aoclussion set all of these to off, they just add crap to the screen really.
Vertical sync OFF
Field of view (VERY IMPORTANT) set to 95 for best balance (in any FPS game really)
Field of view scaling in ADS set to ON (recommended)
Motion blur amount set to 0%
Weapon DOF set to OFF
Resolution Scale to 100% (not recommended to fuck with this)
4:Ingame gameplay settings:
NETWORK SMOOTHING FACTOR (important!!!) set to 10% for best balance (and perceived hitboxes)
5:BF4 version:
In origin richt click bf4 > properties, running the 32 bit version instead of the 64 bit can solve some Punkbuster related problems, this can do wonders, dont ask why tho, cus no1 knows hehe.
7:OS:
Windows 8.1 is best for bf4 atm, upgrade if you can.
8:Nvidia control panel:
*right click on desktop > Nvidia control panel.
I recomend doing this yourself, it might differ from my available options.
Ye its one of the most important tweaks imo, if you can get used to it, it will result in much better accuracy overall, BF3 had this option as well (and needed it just as much hehe)
Vsync is disabled if you follow these intructions (0 = false/untrue), vsync is horrible indeed, these steps will disable it (including nvidia control panel)
